Saturday 6th April 2024 marks the date when the sophistication of Classical music meets the vibrancy of the Caribbean. At 6:30pm, the sacred space of All Saints’ Anglican Church will come alive for a musical experience that transcends cultural boundaries. Aptly titled ‘Where We From’, this brilliant presentation by Chandelier Productions, promises to immerse audiences in a symphony of intricate choral arrangements and majestic orchestration; each composition highlighting the splendour and magnificence of Caribbean talent.

At the helm of this ground-breaking production is esteemed Conductor and Composer, Michael Hudlin, who has been purposefully carving out a unique path within the local music industry, where the soul of the Caribbean can be captured and expressed through the lens of Classical music. In that vein, ‘Where We From’ will captivate audiences through a meticulous curation of pieces, traversing from classical masterpieces to the vibrant heartbeat of traditional Caribbean folk melodies, and culminating in an exquisite ode to Trinidad and Tobago through artful arrangements of our National Songs.

A crowning jewel within the production is the premier of Hudlin’s ‘Te Deum’ Latin translation – We Praise Thee, O God. ‘Te Deum’ was composed specifically with the merger of classical and folk/calypso music in mind, and will be brought to life by a chorus of accomplished vocalists: Sopranos – Samantha Stanislaus, Adafih Padmore, and Josanne Bethelmy; Altos – Gabrielle Tull, Christine David Lewis, and Paula Daniel-Linton; Tenors – Carl-Anthony Hines and Jamel Williams; and Baritones – Isaiah Alexander, Christopher Thomas, and Garnet Allen; with the grandeur of The Lydian Steel Ensemble adding an extra layer of richness to the symphony of voices.

‘Where We From’ is Chandelier Productions eleventh production, since its inception in 2015. Founded by singer, stage manager and producer, Tiana Chandler, the company was created as a platform for members of the creative industry to be seen and heard, whilst providing top-tier entertainment to its audiences.
