AIDA, the highly anticipated musical from Presentation College Mixed Choir has been postponed.
Originally intended to run at the Naparima Bowl from October 4th – 8th, this schedule adjustment became necessary as a result of the Bowl undergoing major maintenance and repairs, and being unable to facilitate events in its main theatre until further notice.
An official release from the mixed choir’s management stated,
“Before booking dates for the performances we were informed that the Naparima Bowl would be scheduled to undergo repairs in May which were to be completed by July. We were recently informed by the Naparima Bowl however, that the venue is still under repair; a completion date for which could not be given. We explored alternative venues but, all the usual performance spaces were either unsuitable for a musical of this size, or booked until next year.”
Speaking with the Trinidad and Tobago Performing Arts Network, Peter Lockhart; the choir’s director, said their cast has been rehearsing since April and ticket sales began as early as July. He stated that the choir’s promotional performances so far has generated significant buzz that AIDA promised to be an outstanding production. He describes their need to postpone as unfortunate and beyond their control.

Presentation College Mixed Choir apologises for the inconvenience that this development may have caused to their patrons, and advises any ticket holders to visit the School’s Office anytime from Monday to Friday between the hours 8:00 a.m to 2:30 p.m. for a return and refund of tickets purchased.
The choir hopes to stage their production of AIDA the musical in 2018. Performance dates and venue will be announced as soon as details are confirmed.
